I set up my business in 2016 after renovating my own home and discovering a passion for interior design. I made my own curtains, blinds and soft furnishings and before long, I was being asked to make things for family and friends. When I started my family, it seemed the natural choice to develop my love of interiors and sewing into a career so I completed a Diploma in Professional Curtain Making and Soft Furnishings with the National Design Academy.
Emma Winterton Interiors was created and runs from my workroom which is based at the family farm in East Leicestershire.
My passion for sewing and design are deep rooted as I have a BA Honours in Fashion Design. During my degree, I spent time working in Savile Row, learning the specialist art of tailoring as well as studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where I learnt invaluable design and haute couture sewing skills.
Most recently, in addition to my business, I have begun working on a self employed basis with the National Design Academy as a Tutor on their Professional Curtain Making and Soft Furnishings Diploma. I am always looking to develop my skills and I am currently studying a Diploma in Interior Design.
